Welcome to this special edition of 32Gi Sports Nutrition, I’m Mr Active David Katz and it’s great today to introduce you to a fantastic new product that 32Gi have brought in. I wouldn’t say it’s a ‘new product’ but it’s a new initiative, giving you a basis and taste of all the great products that 32Gi do offer. It’s called the 32Gi Endurance Starter Pack.
Mark Wolff on the podcast with me, Mark, I think this is brilliant, it retails for R179.95 and even for people who are not new to the product it gives them a quick little sample box, could do well to take to events. What was the thought behind bringing it out?
Mark Wolff: David, we launched the pack I think for two reasons. First of all is that as you mentioned, there’s a lot of people who want to test or try out the 32Gi product range and instead of buying a lot of different products here and there. We decided to offer a discounted rate on a bundled pack which would allow people to actually take a couple of our products and be able to test them. See what they like, what they don’t like and there’s also a nice mix of flavours in there. So it will give people a very good idea as to what the range consists of.
A great mix of products
Over and above that, we get a lot of people who travel to races and they land up wanting to buy a mixture of products. So what we did was we put together basically an Endurance Pack which gives at least up to eight hours of fuelling. Which has got hydration and energy products in it.
Also for low and high intensity performance athletes. It just allows somebody to purchase a bundle of our product that they can utilise for training or racing. It is a cost saving and it also allows them to experience other products which they might not necessarily have experienced in the past.
DK: I agree with you, often you go and look at a tub of something and you haven’t tried it and you don’t know if it’ll work for you and it’s a lot of money to outlay. So I love the idea of a little bit here and there and I mean the old additive is that you should never try something new on race day. So this is something people can take, use in training, try the different things. If it works it works, if it doesn’t work, you try again. It’s great, probably best to use when training initially?
MW: Yes, definitely, I would say take it, use it in training, it’s not an expensive bundle of items, it has a nice variety. In actual fact an Endurance Pack at the moment, we’ve thrown in some extra products for no additional cost. It’s available now in Dischem countrywide, it’s also available on our online store and I think it’s just a fantastic initiative in order to be able to get people to experience 32Gi products. Also tie back to understanding how each product supports each different need of each athlete.
Healthy diet paired with healthy products
DK: Mark, talking about that and I’ll put links up on the podcast too where you can find out more and order online the Endurance Starter Pack. But people who are new to nutrition, I know you always say: Healthy food, clean food first, but people do these events, they need some form of extra nutrition. When that time comes it’s very important to make sure you’re on the right stuff and you guys have got a great mix of that in here. It’s healthy and it’s clean and this can complement a natural diet can’t it?
MW: A hundred percent. As I always tell people, you know very well, a supplement is only a supplement to a healthy diet. There’s a time and a reason to consume supplements and the reason for that is usually convenience. Obviously in a race or a training session you can’t go and carry your kitchen with you, but supplements do provide a very convenient way of being able to fuel the body. As I mentioned in the Endurance Pack we’ve got a variety of products for people that do low intensity training to more high intensity training. We’ve also thrown our G-Shots in there, extra G-Shots which is a caffeine product which actually allows for alertness.
We’ve provided a nice, comprehensive mix of products and we’ve also put a recovery sachet in there which obviously takes care of the after-training or after-racing session. That allows for people to actually taste and test our recovery product. It really is comprehensive, so from your low endurance end athlete to a high performing athlete and taking care of the recovery, everything in one box.
DK: I think it sounds brilliant, you could even call it a Family Box or a Friends Group Training Box, a great way if you’re not into supplements or you want to try something different and add it to your regime. I think it’s absolutely brilliant and I’ll put all those links up if you want to click through straight to the website and see what it’s about. Thanks Mark Wolff once again for joining us and from myself, Mr Active, David Katz, we’ll catch up with you on the podcast very soon.
